A Meaningful Life

Live With Self-Initiated Drive, Desire, and Determination

The Drive

We cannot ever tame the world or expect stability from it because it exists on movement. And movement brings unpredictable and often undesirable change. When we do not have the wisdom to face the challenges, they will seem tough, imposing, impossible.  With wisdom, they seem to become smaller. Yet they are not smaller. We have become bigger… on the inside. We then have the drive to do; and it comes from within us.

The Desire

We all are driven by desire, and desire must have meaning. But when we reach for meaning within the world – of material belongings, of social encounters, of physical pleasure, of health – we get only what the world can give… meaning which is unstable,  unreliable, disloyal, and ultimately delusive. To feel stable, strong, independent, and focused, each person needs to have  meaning that is both stable and rationally or scientifically derived.

The determination

The determination in this exercise is to seek, discover, and implement the realization that we are not a physical body with a sophisticated mind but that we are a sophisticated mind functioning through a physical body. The body is designed to disintegrate after 70-90 years, or less. The mind is designed to be developed to our highest level of achievement. The dialogue in the book makes this a fact by proving it scientifically and theologically.
This is the most stable, productive, progressive, and universally applicable font of meaning that we, as intelligent beings, are capable of realizing.;

Be good to yourself.

know yourself

love yourself

build yourself

to be the best you can be.

The Difference and the Analysis

Superficial Meaning

When we see ourselves only as part of a herd, we are simply physical beings with similar capabilities and limitations. We identify with what we can see, touch, and measure because these are what the senses of the body will determine. Meaning at this level lies in finding stable material, physical, and health conditions so we can exist in comfort or survive undisturbed. Meaning, therefore, is satisfied by the calm and serenity of the body and stability within the world, an impossible feat.

Profound Meaning

We live in a reality built on change. In this reality, the human being is the only living creature that functions as an independent entity. We do not behave with the singular resolve that is defined by herd instinct. We each must face life with a personal sense of meaning that is unique to each individual. Once conveyed through the church or family values that are now lost to the majority of youth, meaning ihas become a personal responsibility, defined by logic but respecting the doctrines of theology.

The Analysis

Since the mind remains invisible and  immeasurable, true meaning can only be discovered through logic using it to analyze and reason, a personal, inward  journey that cannot be  simplified into easy steps. Rather than offering a checklist for life, this book guides readers through thought-provoking dialogue that delves into science,  theology, philosophy, and psychology to examine the physics of matter and also the logic of the mind as a non-physical but real existence or entity.
